SAP India is expanding its initiatives towards its commitment to equip two million people in India with AI-ready skills by 2030.
The programme involves collaboration with academic institutions, industry partners, government bodies and community organisations. Its learning focus includes AI, cloud, data and enterprise technologies.
SAP reported that approximately 13% of its India target had already been reached through existing certification, student education and community programmes as of its 28 October announcement.
Why it matters: Large technology companies are increasingly connecting education with practical workplace capabilities. AI skilling is becoming an ecosystem effort involving employers, universities, certification providers and government institutions.
What students should take away: Learning AI concepts is useful, but understanding how AI works inside actual business applications can provide a stronger foundation for professional opportunities.
